The literal 3's....
Royce: Rasa, what are you an angel or something? Look at your pretty eyes!
Rasa: My eyes are blue!
Me: Yes they are blue and they're beautiful. They're blue like the ocean!
Rasa (looking at me with one eyebrow raised): But the ocean doesn't have eyeballs!

cutest little model there is
Rasa LOVES being my model when I need one. She always volunteers and always takes direction so well. I was playing with light this evening in the house and needed her help. She gave me a few cheesy smiles but my favorites are always when I ask her questions and it's just her natural state of wonderful.
XXOO Rasa Bea! You are SO SO SO pretty!

The things they say...
As my family is sitting at a quant little cafe on the patio for desert Saturday night Rasa tells Royce she needs to go to the bathroom. I had just brought her to the bathroom so I asked her if she could hold it for a few minutes because we're going to be leaving and going home. She ignored me and got distracted with something else. Five minutes later she stands up on her chair and yells, "Mommy! I have to go to the bathroom! I have to POOP and pee!!" The packed table at the other end full of kidless 20 somethings seemed shocked and amused at the same time.
Last night we put the girls to bed and they were having a hard time settling down. Royce and my bedroom door faces the girls so when we are in bed watching a movie we can look over and see Adia in her bed. She was talking NON-STOP and we were trying to ignore her so she would just go to bed. She was singing, laughing, talking in different voices, jumping on the bed and repeating to me over and over that she couldn't sleep.
I was more amused than frustrated but it was nearly 11 pm so I finally said:
"Adia it's time to sleep! I'm starting to get mad now".
Adia askes, "Is Papa getting mad too?"
Royce replies, "Yes, Adia I'm starting to get mad too".
Adia says, "Well, I'm mad too! I'm getting MAD!"
Then softly and quietly I hear Rasa's voice say, "yep me too"
Royce and I giggle and then hear Adia say, "This is getting ridiculous! It's ridiculous!"

snowwhite sighting!
Rasa rocked this frock all over richfield last night. She even wore it to the playground we go to that is packed with at least a hundred kids every single night. Not one of them looked at her like she was odd. Rasa's on cold round two in the bast two weeks, poor babe. She's doing well though and working through it.

my little thinker.....
We spent the entire morning, day and night outside today in swimsuits, in the sprinkler, at the water table and in the sun and when the sun went away we walked and biked until it was too dark to see what we were doing. HELLO SPRING we've been waiting for your return!
At about 9 we came in, popped in a movie and all of us even after a good dinner felt hungry. Rasa was laying across me when Royce asked if I wanted to run out and grab some grub and Rasa didn't want me to leave so I whispered to her, "shhhh do you want to come with me?". Her face lit up and she literally ran into the kitchen whispered to Daddy to be quiet but that she was coming with me so Adia couldn't hear. Off we went. It struck me funny as I was strapping her into her car seat that it was such a treat for her to come along but hey if she's this easy to please than I'm all for it!
On the way home she asked if I would sit next to her when we eat our food and I said of course. Then she paused and said, "I think it would be a good idea to eat at the table. I don't want to spill any of my dip on the couch". Um ok, you're way ahead of me there and would you please just be THREE!! You're starting to scare me.

m&m cannibalism?
The girls invaded my bed early this morning as I was laying watching the news. The crawled up, snuggled in and watched for a few minutes with me. An M&M commercial came on with the animated talking M&M characters and this convo followed:
Adia: "Look m&m's!!! We can't eat those though"
Rasa: "No, we can't cuz we eat too much candy"
Adia: "No Rasa we can't eat those they have eyes!"
Rasa: "Oh yeah they do have eyes"
Ultimate confusion followed by a moment of silence.

my little Gordon girl....
Rasa is so Gordon (my maiden name and a term my friends and family refer to when speaking of the similarities both personality wise and physically between my Mom, my Sister and I). She is always barefoot, LOVES campfires, walks, dancing to the beat of her own drum, nature, the touch and feel of puppies, soft blankets and soft skin. She doesn't care if it matches, looks "cool" to anyone else, she will wear whatever she fancies with conviction and defend her choice to the bitter end (and let me assure you the things they puts on are usually combinations only to be seen in movies like Pricilla Queen of the Desert!!). She searches around here for plants popping through the dirt and touches them ever so gently and looks up at me with glowing eyes that scream the miracle of new life. Today as she was admiring our fern garden I asked her if she wanted to plant and grow tomatoes like she did last year and she looked away, thought about it for a minute and ran up to me with a smile saying, "I want to grow tomatoes!!! I want to grow them now!!" She doesn't say or do anything without thinking it through first. Last year she planted six of them and they grew twice as tall as she was. She was excited to see them grow and to eat their delicious fruit.
This was her last summer tending to her garden :)
Last night Adia was spent so we put both girls to bed at 8pm (very early for them). Rasa hopped the baby gate and came strolling out about a half an hour later while Adia was fast asleep. She was such a good girl all day so I allowed her to stay up with us for a couple hours and enjoy being an only kid, something Adia used to do quite frequently months ago. When it was time for us to go to bed I persuaded Royce to let Rasa sleep with us again and she did, happily snuggled between us just like not so long ago. It was nice and we decided we need more time with both of us and each kid separately. We spend time one on one with the girls more frequently now but memories I have as a kid on birthday's when my parents would take me out to any restaurant I chose and got a sitter for my siblings made me feel so special. To own all of the attention of Mom and Dad, even for one night a year, was so meaningful to me that now as an adult I don't remember a single birthday gift but I remember a half a dozen restaurants we visited just the three of us.
So again tonight Rasa is on my mind and all of the little things about her that make her so unique, so difficult and so extraordinary.

New do's!
After we made our weekly library trip on Tuesday I noticed a Kid's Cut's across the street. Rasa's bangs have gotten longer and in her eyes so I asked her if she wanted to get a hair cut and to my surprise she said yes! We get in there and I'm looking at Adia's hair that hasn't been trimmed up for a while and decided to give her a cut too. The girls did really well and were a little nervous as we walked in. Adia says right away, "I don't want to go to the doctor!" lol! I had to reassure here that it was not a clinic!
I got Adia's hair cut a little shorter but in the same style I had done a few months back. I love it! Rasa got her bags trimmed and still something didn't look right. I couldn't figure out what it was but her hair just wasn't working for her.
Today my Mom and I brought the girls back and had Rasa's cut the same as Adia's. Walaa! I loved it, it's perfect for her. I was worried all of the curls would disappear but after it was cut they popped out of no where.
I snapped these pics right after nap and Rasa had pulled her ponies out so it looks a little wild but I think it's going to work great for her :)

The things they say.....
Rasa: I need to eat something.
Me: Well, eat your supper that's sitting on your plate over there.
Rasa: Hmmm I think I will eat something else besides my supper please.
Me: No, you will eat your supper.
Rasa: Um no I'm not hungry.

The things they say...
I was getting Adia ready for bed last night and she was starring at me for a while looking like she was concentrating and I was waiting for some sweet words to come out of her mouth telling me (like she usually does) that I am beautiful or that she loves me.
Adia: Momma I don't like you're hair
Me: What?
Adia with a mean girl attitude: I...do...not...like...your...hair. I like Papa's hair.
Me: Wow
On a side note I felt like I was actually have a REALLY GOOD hair day for a change!
Rasa and I were sitting on the couch this weekend and I called Lucy up to snuggle with me. Lucy started chewing on her back foot.
Rasa: Ahahahahahahahahahaha
Me: What's so funny?
Rasa: Look at Lucy! She's kinda like eating herself!!
